Russian Motorcycle Sidecar Experience for 2 – Soweto Tour (5hrs)
A sidecar tour offers you a unique way to experience the freedom of the road – exploring South Africa on a classic-styled Russian sidecar motorcycle.
All our rigs are the latest models, featuring advanced technology and are maintained in immaculate condition.
We meet at Monte Casino in the morning. It is safe to leave your vehicle in the paid parking lot.
From Monte, we get on the N1 highway to Soweto. We travel at a leisurely pace so you can get acquainted with your sidecar. Before entering Soweto, we will stop and take some pictures of the Johannesburg skyline and tell you a little bit of history of the area.
Traveling past the Orlando (West) Stadium, we head to Orlando East – to the Hector Peterson memorial and museum.
Here you may enter the museum and take part in the guided tour.
After this you can stroll the sidewalk vendors on your way to Vilakazi street that is a short walk away. Of course, if you choose, we can ride there in your sidecar.
In Vilakazi street you can see and visit Nelson Mandelaâs house. There are a few restaurants in the street that serves really great food. Have lunch with the locals and experience life in the township.
After your lunch at Vilakazi street, we head towards the Orlando Towers. These towers, no more in use, were used to supply electricity to Soweto at one stage.
There is a special lift that you can use to take you to the top to have a picture perfect view of the area (R 80 pp extra)
For the more adventurous types, – bungi jumping from the towers is also an option.
On our sidecars again, we travel past the world famous Baragwanath Hospital, – the biggest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere.
From here we head to the FNB Soccer stadium where you can enjoy a champagne picnic with the stadium as a spectacular backdrop!
Included in your picnic is biltong, olives, a selection of cheese, crackers, a selection of nuts and something sweet, all for your enjoyment.
After your picnic we head back to Monte with the sidecars and drop you safe and sound at our meeting spot at Monte Casino.
(Please note that the Price is for two people on one sidecar with a driver. A sidecar takes three persons. Weight of the two passengers must be under 190kg. All tours are with a driver – no self-drive. Tour takes around 5 hours. (All drinks, food and entertainment/entrance fees, excluding the Champagne picnic, for your own account)
